About Us

The Tuahiwi Education team have been working in the Ngāi Tūāhuriri community for over 20 years. We aim to support whānau on their education journey, to provide opportunity to our teachers and leaders to learn about who Ngāi Tūāhuriri are, to create strong relationships with our schools and to make sure our tamariki are learning in a culturally safe environment where they are proud to be Ngāi Tahu. We provide many different kaupapa for all ages and creeds from professional development workshops, rangatahi holiday programmes, provide support and advice to our schools and work with whānau in their pursuit of education. We are passionate about making sure our whānau have the tools and support to become life long learners and ensuring that their educational environment is nurturing of their Ngāi Tūāhuriri and Ngāi Tahu identity.
