Workshop One: Getting To Know Us


Nau mai haere mai! Start learning about Ngāi Tūāhuriri, mana whenua of the greater Christchurch and our localised Ngāi Tahu history, through our cultural education workshops run by the Tuahiwi Education Committee. Over 7,000 members of the education community and beyond have taken part in this unique opportunity.

WORKSHOP INFORMATION

Our workshops run monthly, 9am — 3pm during the week,

and cover the following:

- The Ngāi Tahu migration — who are Ngāi Tahu and Ngāi Tūāhuriri

- Mihimihi

- Tikanga and kawa

- Pōwhiri process 

Our workshops have a history of success, attracting educators from schools, early childhood centres, tertiary institutions, health providers, and others from government, non-profit, and corporate organisations.

 

The cost of the workshop includes morning tea, lunch and the workbook resource.

  • Educational providers and not-for-profit organisations $175 (plus GST) per person.
  • All other organisations $200 (plus GST) per person


A 10% discount applies to groups over 20.
